3 Ways to Space Clear to Increase Your Productivity

How could a space clearing improve your productivity? All spaces have energy that affects the inhabitants, and your office or work space is no different. By removing old, stale, and stagnant qi (energy) from your workspace you can effectively push the reset button. Projects not getting completed? Workload feeling a little overwhelming? A simple space clearing can shift the qi from negative to positive giving you the support you need.

Here are three ways to space clear your office or work space:

  1. Burn palo santo

Palo santo comes from trees in the South American rainforests of the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador and Peru, and its name means “holy wood/stick.” It has been used for thousands of years in healing and ceremony, and in clearing space. In addition to having a purifying effect when burned, palo santo has a pleasant smell that many people enjoy.

To clear space with palo santo, light one end of the stick until it begins to burn, blow it down to an ember, and guide the smoke around the areas of the room you wish to clear. Make sure you allow the palo santo to produce enough smoke to fill the air, and remember to guide the smoke into corners. A good way to move through the space is to start at the front door and move clockwise around the room. Use a fire-safe bowl or container to rest the palo santo in and to extinguish the flame after you’ve finished. After you’ve snuffed the flame, you can save your palo santo and relight it next time you want to clear your space.

  2. Ring bells

Sound can be a really effective space clearing tool. You can use a Tibetan tingsha bell, chimes, or any well-made bell that makes a clear sound. To clear your work space, ring this bell nine times in the center of the room, and allow the sound to dissipate on its own.

This also uses the energy of metal, which is useful if you want to create more clarity and focus around your work projects. Ringing a bell can also symbolize ringing in more abundance, which is a great way to clear the space where you are focusing on your work and career.

  3. Use a Himalayan salt crystal lamp

These lamps are excellent for clearing the air of negative ions and EMFs. We’re surrounded by devices that emit EMFs, especially in your office where you are most likely working with electronic devices, like a computer, Wi-Fi, and phone. Himalayan salt lamps come in a variety of shapes, so you can choose one that works well for your space. In addition, these lamps give off a really beautiful, soft light that is great to have while you’re working!

It’s a good idea to space clear your office regularly to remove any negative or stagnant energy. This is especially helpful any time you feel like you need a fresh start in your work life and want to welcome in new, positive energy to support your career.

Try this: Once you’ve cleared your office with one of these methods, take some time to set an intention to welcome in new positive energy that will support you in your career. Keep it simple. I am productive and supportive. The energy is now clear and open…. Repeat your intention nine times.
